As Memorial Day weekend concludes we each know summer is here.
Students concluded the school year with one final adventure as a class. Â They participated in outdoor games and activities at Twin Rivers Community Park (as weather allowed). Â We played a few science learning games including Predator and Prey, as well as Carrying Capacity (with black beans).
The fantastic pictures were taken by Rebecca Ilgen (Brooke’s mom).
Hopefully everyone has an amazing season full of summer adventure, including indoor and outdoor reading.
Three Summer Reading Opportunities:
- Â Don’t forget in a few days (June 3rd) High Plains Library begins their summer reading program.
- Scholastic has a Summer Reading Challenge students can sign up for online.
- We also have our University Schools summer reading program, just use the form that I sent home with report cards.
Also our school library is open most Wednesdays from 9am – noon. Â Stop by during the month of June and say “hello”. Â Nancy Pedigo (librarian) and I will be hanging out with Summer Reading Camp students. Â (These Wednesdays are June 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th – with the library open 9am – noon.)
Please note that the current natalieboyd.com website features Boyd’s Bugs. Â In the future this website will transition to meet the needs of 3rd and 4th grade learners. Â If you wish to save any of the pictures, look through our many months of archives and save any pictures or information you wish to have in the future.
Have fun learning and growing this summer. Â I can’t wait to see everyone in August!
