About

Natalie Boyd: 1st and 2nd grade teacher at University Schools.

Who we are:

During the 2011-2012 school year, natalieboyd.com will serve to highlight some of our classroom activities as students explore. The classroom is a multi-grade level (1st & 2nd) environment.  Students have the privilege of learning within a K-12 community,  which creates opportunities for younger students to work with older students as role models.

About Mrs. Boyd:

I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.  In 2006, I completed my undergraduate degree at Western Michigan University, immediately launching a career in marketing.

After spending time as an advertising coordinator for three different dog magazines and various global pursuits, including studying at a university in Beijing, China, I returned to the States to work with kids!

Most recent teaching experiences:

  • During the summer of 2009 leading summer enrichment programs with 5 and 6 year olds.
  • At the same preschool, during the fall 2010, I began teaching Pre-Kindergarten students.
  • During 2010 I began a graduate program at the University of Northern Colorado.  As a part of this program, I was able to teach at a variety of local elementary schools.  (I have 2 more classes to complete towards earning my masters degree in Elementary Education.)
  • In January 2011, I began student teaching with 3rd and 4th grade students at University Schools.

After a variety of careers and opportunities, I couldn’t be more thrilled to teach.  I have passion to teach as kids explore and learn about the world.
