Denver Museum of Nature and Science

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is running a program offering free admission to all school groups until December 2012.  Our class took advantage of this offer and enjoyed a day at the museum.

Most students stopped by the Gems & Minerals exhibit which expanded our learning opportunities from 1st trimester.

Expedition Health was very fun to explore; a special section of the museum focusing on the human body.

Some students in our class were exploring the Solar System, when an interactive lesson on physics practically fell into our laps.  A few actors appeared to help us understand how Galileo used the Leaning Tower of Pisa to make a scientific discovery.

We even had a student selected from our class to participate in the demonstration.  Students learned the weight of an object doesn’t affect the speed at which it falls.

Overall, students had a great day of science fun and learning!  Thank you to all of the parents who spent their day with our students helping them explore.
