We had a fabulous first day of school. Â It was especially exciting to make history at University Schools, as we are the first class to not use ordinary chairs, but use stability balls instead. Â Students learned all about the history of the exercise ball. Â You can give your child a pop quiz and ask where was the ball invented.
Also, a BIG part of 4th grade being a success is having a safe and fun learning community. We read a book, I Love Monkey and discussed the value of loving ourselves the way we are.  Also, we watched a Pixar Short called “Day and Night”.  Although we may be as different as day and night, we are discussing the value of learning about others who are completely different than ourselves.
So far a fantastic start to 4th grade! Â Can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow.
