Students are currently exploring their place in the world.
We recently created a triangle chart that started with ourselves as a part of University Schools, a part of Greeley, Weld County, Colorado, the United States of America, North America, and our planet Earth.
During our 1st trimester students will learn about Colorado geography, but it is especially important to be aware of ourselves as global citizens. Â Over the past few days students have discussed what does it mean to be a “global citizen”.
We have worked in country groups (India, Myanmar and Guatemala) based on our Around the World issues of Time for Kids. Â We will continue to learn about many countries throughout the school year. Â Students have brought home a world map that they can color and use as a resource. Â Students may want to hang up their map somewhere special, but they should ask permission first.
