Dancing before Testing!

For the past six school years, our University third, fourth and fifth grade students have enjoyed the opportunity to dance in the gym before starting the annual standardized test.

This week we began taking the PARCC test. Dancing is a fun way to engage students physically before heading to classrooms to take the test.

Benefits of Dancing before Testing:

  • unites our students in a positive way
  • improves brain function
  • helps students feel energized early in the morning before they sit to take the test
  • builds endorphins
  • it’s also really fun

Thank you for your support at home during our weeks of testing.  We appreciate families guiding students in going to bed early, eating a healthy breakfast and more.

Feel free to ask your child to show some of the new dances they have practiced.

We have to thank our amazing P.E. teachers for teaching us the “cool moves”.
